Ruth Raubertas graduated with distinction from Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana with a degree in music education. She has done additional studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ (now Rider University) and has had training in the Suzuki and Kodaly methods of music education. She has taught piano privately for over 25 years and has directed a number of choirs and music groups as well as accompanying, composing and arranging music for church, folk music and musical theater. She is currently church accompanist at Mt. Zion Mennonite Church in Boonsboro, Maryland and sings with the Antietam Women's Ensemble.
Ms. Raubertas is a recipient of the Raissa Tselentis Advanced Bach award from the National Guild of Piano Teachers as well as a Teacher Enrichment grant award from the Music Teachers National Association. She is an active member of the Eastern Panhandle Music Teachers' Association, the Music Teachers National Association, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and is a registered Suzuki teacher.
Ruth and her husband Michael are co-owners of Four Seasons Books, a general bookstore in Shepherdstown, WV, and live on a mini-farm where they garden, raise chickens, and endeavor to practice sustainable living.
